Get Out of Your Own Way

t’s amazing how much we can accomplish if no one cares who gets the credit.”

– John Wooden

I’m not sure what this quote means to you? Personally I learned a long time ago that if you allow your ego to guide your intuition you will never truly grow as a leader and your organization will suffer as a result. The ego-centric leader is always looking for the glory and respect.

Leaders who succeed at a high level understand the concept of leveraging resources. They seek to maximize every asset and resource they have for the benefit of their organization. When presented with a challenge or new idea they ask themselves three questions…

  1. Who is the best person to solve it?

  2. What will it cost?

  3. How much time & money will it save us long term?

If there isn’t somebody on your team that can solve the challenge or execute the new idea don’t stop there…
